PARENT HEALTH

A hotly viral TikTokhas been going around this week of a woman saying that putting her partner first greatly increased their quality of parenting. Hereā€™s some points sheā€™d made, based on her experience being married for 20 years :

  • Make time for each other - take walks in nature, go on vacations. or plan dinner dates with the kids safely with a babysitter.

  • Keep up appearances - show your appreciation for your partner by dressing up for them once in a while. Staying healthy and fit together can also become a bonding point.

  • Always be on the same page - kids can be notorious for turning parents on one another. Kick out the ā€œgood cop, bad cop routineā€ and stick to the ā€œone copā€ solution.

Always remember that when it comes to parenting, you and your partner are a team.šŸ˜‰

Heatwave Horror

Earlier this week, we were shocked by this very headline :

The devastating heat can really take a toll on babies and toddlers

With the heat getting out of hand in part across the country, weā€™ve some tips to share on how to keep the kiddies safe from the scorching sun :

  • Hear them out - kids are more likely to complain and be cranky when theyā€™re feeling heat exhausted.

  • Dress kids in light clothes - choose thin, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen, go for T-shirts, tanks, and shorts, and incorporate a hat.

  • Watch out for symptoms of heat-related illness - faintness, extreme tiredness, intense thirst, headaches, fever, nausea, vomiting, hyperventilation and skin numbness or tingling.
